I am so glad that Peggy has her own business. She is so well prepared to run a rental business since she worked so many years for others. She knows how to provide what the guest like and direct them to the type of cabin they need. She is also aware of the parking problem that some cabins pose. I am sure she makes that aware to all her guest. I remember one guest who arrived with his dually truck and was upset that he could not park easily on the mountain road. Of course, that was with Fontaines. Yes, PRAISE to Pioneeer Rental Cabins.

Thanks for the update! The lawyer I spoke with said the TREC board is made of real estate agents and they pretty much protect their own. Just like doctors I said back. I hope TREC proves that statement wrong in this case. Did it seem as though the security was on the side of the Vicks? I hope you receive what your owed! Give up your time labour and supplies... Is it worth speaking to Mr. Stapleton? If so give him a call, he'll help you figure out if it's worth it or not. Good Luck. Look in the above posts and call the District Attorney Office ... also file with Sevier County Ethics Commission- very easy and I think worth it!

I was the former pest control company that got stiffed out of two months of service.Still have not received anything.I received a call from Greenbrier needing keys to four cabins going on their program.I know laurie and David Gray,felt comfortable with their request .I dropped the other keys off at the security house with the guard on duty.did not give me much info on the comings and goings.Still hold termite bond on the castle, hope rob vick trys to sell and needs my help. check out hammerandafeather blog about tenn realestate law and how it's not working for the consumers.will continue to snoop around and keep you'all posted.

I spoke with a wonderful lawyer. Is anyone else interested in going in with me for a civil action? He said I have a clear case. As I'm sure we all do. I totally agree about TripAdvisor. What are they trying to do? Protect the Vicks. Seems like they would want those who are making trips to visit their sites to learn about places whether good or bad. Right now I would NOT trust them with any opinion that they allow to be shown on their website. Shame on them.

"the Letter" Very nice offer- I also used the Mt. Press Articles and a printout of the website stating they closed. My CC company said the Vicks have 45 days to fight it. So don't request a check or spend the money until 45 days have passed. Anyone hear back from any television station? Please everyone call that District Attorney!

I certainly wouldn't want any of the Vicks to have access to my cabin. Any cabin owners who sue the Vicks need to include the expense of having their locks changed, regardless. Even if they give your keys back, they could have easily made copies.

Unless they paid you, I hope you did not give the keys back to the Vicks. If all the cabin owners were to charge the Vicks to have their locks changed on every door, they'd be begging to pay what they owe you.

THE LETTER: For anyone who paid their deposit via credit card (CC) and is waiting for the rental dates to pass before their CC company will remove the charges: My CC company accepted the Fontaine/Vick letter as proof and agreed to remove the charges NOW. I faxed them the letter which states that the company has "closed and will not reopen" (thus services cannot possibly be rendered). CC company said not to worry about the threatened withholding of fees. Sure enough, I have just verified that the full charge has been credited back! The letter contains no personal information and could be used by any Fontaine VICKtim as proof/evidence. I am willing to forward a PDF formatted copy of the letter to any who did not receive one but may be able to use it in the same way (if your CC Company is open to the obvious, as mine was). We can now enjoy our future visit without this worry still pending and sincerely wish the same for all of you. Let me know if there is any interest. I will check back soon. K.

My nephew might be interested in being part of the group since he is out almost $800. Was this in a discussion about what the Vicks have done to many people? It's approx. $112.50 + $22 per location served to started a civil lawsuit there. (That's roughly what I remember, after having talked to Sevier Co. about it once.) NOTE: Class Action was not discussed at that time.

By the way, one of the Fontaine employees is still working for the Vicks. She is cleaning the cabins that they are still renting. Castle and Critter. Just saw her today retreating to her home northeast of Gatlinburg. I feel sorry that she has to work for the Vicks.

Robert and Libby Vick live in Cobbly Nob outside of Gatlinburg. Their residence address is 759 Vixen Run in Cobbly Nob. It is a Gatlinburg address. The security guard will give you a map of the area and indicate the location of the residence of Rob and Libby Vick. I tried to locate David's address but I could not get positive verification of being the right David Vick. His wife's name is Brittany Stephens Vick. I believe they live in Knoxville.

Not living there I ask, does everyone know what they have done? How do local residents feel about this? Is it life as usual for them(Vicks), when they go shopping, get gas, etc... This is a living hell for me (trying to get my refund) no response from phone calls, emails, no response from TREC/ Sheriff's Dept. It is so hard living so far away - It makes me easy to be ignored- it makes me feel it's not being taken serious. The one thing you want control over in life is your money, what I've lost may not be a lot to some, but it is tremendous in my world. Even the news stations are not calling back- that really makes me feel like it's a nothing story- in my world it's the only story...

According to eye witness accounts, Robert and Libby Vick are coming and going thru Cobbly Nob to their home. Plus they are actively renting Castle on the Green and Mountain Critter Lodge. If someone wants a map to find their house or these two rentals, one only needs to ask. They have made a lot of enemies, so there are lots of people that would be glad to help you try and find them for negotiation reasons.

Anything could be. However if they were you would think they would have filed some charges themselves. And would have had some sympathy for the people they have taken money from. I spoke to the real estate agent that he told he deserved the money, and remember the ex-employee he offered to split the rental money with if they did not tell cabin owners how frequent their cabins rented. I think if they were people with hearts and ripped off themselves they would feel bad and would have made some phone calls and notified people. Not let people drive from all over the country to read a sign about Libby's high blood pressure. If they were ripped off, and still handled things the way they did- it shows their character. A reporter told me that it is gambling and tax debt they are in.

Remember your contract was through Fontaine Cabin Rentals. A company which is now closed with reservations canceled due to health reasons. How could any of us ever trust something that comes in a Fontaine envelope. Other cabin owners are not honoring our reservations. They just want to make money. Fontaine Cabin Rentals have stated that they are closed. You do not have a contract with at private owner- talk about not have any backing. We are not getting any from a larger company that has screwed us. Don't trust a private owner, let alone a VICK. So Daddy got his money for the cabins but I know my cabin owner did not. They just want to still make money off Mt. Critter Lodge and Castle on the Green. Just b/c it's his father does not mean you have a contract with him. Did your letter even address YOU, your check in and out dates... What assurance do you have? None... Go after your money due back- they canceled on us- your not canceling on them- the letter states that Fontaine Cabin Rentals has canceled our reservations- they are not owed any cxl fee- We are... Pursue what your owed. Call everywhere you can, TV Newspaper, BBB, TREC, Sheriff Dept. .....

Received letterS from Fontaine yesterday. One was from Fontaine Cabin Rentals saying they would give refunds pro-rata. There was then a handwritten note at the bottom stating that the property would be rented by its owner. In the same envelope was a later from Bob Vick (unsigned) saying that he would be renting it directly and our rental would be honored, etc. "Bob Vick" is Robert's father I believe. At this point, I do not want anything to do with these guys. They have yet to address anything I have asked them for.

For credit card disputes: also include all three articles in the mt. press. Go to the bottom of the Mt. Press page and under search type in Vick. Even if the last two articles are not about you and your family, the fact the press is so involved can only help your case with your company. I was just wondering...has anybody who rented from the Vick's received any cabin deposit money back? I know they sent a letter stating they were going to reimburse....but I was just wondering if they have stuck to their word.
