I am hearing a lot of people talking about this stuff. Is the one they call the coward going to be held accountable for breaking the law? Why did he sign the email as "A concerned Gathering attender looking for truth from MY church." People say he hasn't attended the church for almost a year. I love my Pastor Gene & his family. I've attended The Gathering for more than 4 yrs and have learned more in those 4 yrs than the past 25. I thank Pastor Gene for giving everyone Bibles, Books, Journals, Bracelets. For opening the doors for prayer iearly in the morning. Thank you Pastor for teaching me how to walk with a church and how to pray. Thank you for teaching me about characters in the Bible that my small baptist church forgot to mention. Thank you for preaching 5 services every weekend for the past 4 years. Thank you for moving your family to Sevier County and sacrificing your life that I might know Jesus. Thank you for EVERYTHING. I'm am disappointed that these bloggers are recruiting members via twitter and duplicating their blogsites to try and imitate Pastors. Like the false prophets..We have been taught truth therefore we know Satan's work. I'm sorry your children have to read negative comments about thier dad. I'm sorry people do not fear God's anger when they tarnish his works. If Pastor Gene is not a man of God, his works would not prosper like they have, he would not increase in numbers, be on television, help the needy. Right, as if the Gathering Church or Gathering Family would submit to anyone. I have heard about Gene wolfenbarger, the most unhumble man I know. Let us see if they will ever reveal where all the money goes. and not just show the categories of spending. to be fully approved by one of the councils so that you can see the hiding of marketing expenses as outreach, or clothing expenses as outreach as that other poster said. That is why they hide the expenses to make the spending look better. It is sad in todays church when people grow to a height using God's name and then prostitute it out the back door doing unholy things with HIS money. A concerned Gathering Church member. oh and as for revealing who I am, you think I want to be harassed by you because Gene bragged to a few of the wrong people. But I still know too many people that go to that church some of which have not seen the light in regards to the personal gain. The Gathering Church needs a little love from the top down I would say. Gene Wolfenbarger needs your prayers. As upset as Gene Wolfenbarger and the gathering church have made us, we need to show love and pray. I know we all fall short of the glory of God. It is just hard to not want to reach out and try to protect others from finding out the hard way the things you have found out about the gathering church. So pray without ceasing for the man in charge (gene wolfenbarger) and that the Gathering church would not continue to hide anything from their people.

Gene Wolfenbarger of The Gathering in Sevierville, TN seems very pompous. I pray for him and wish him the best but I feel sorry for those that are under him. I have seen how he takes people at the gathering church, staff or congregation, and if they see something wrong, he convices them of why it is right. Oh this is how they do it in all "Mega Churches". He twists them into thinking that the overlooking or lying about things are ok because that is how everyone else does it. Being a member of the church and giving sacrificially he even posted once on his facebook that he was on a trip because of the sacrificial gifts of his people while talking with his brother. The problem I see is so many people say well there is nowhere else to go so we will keep going to the gathering church. Or I hear that it must be God for all these things keep happening. Well let me tell you, they are doing the same thing in the satanic churches, the muslim churches, they are all experiencing victory in their minds eye. The reality is, they just have to get you to accept 5-10% of the lies or deceit and they have you out of the will of God and into the world. I pray it will change and things will get right. You know you can only duplicate who you are and give people what you have. And if that is the case I do not want to be another Gene Wolfenbarger, Do you?

Lets do some 2nd grade math so the sheep can follow:Lets say everyone gets a 30% paycut. here is what that would look like. Wolfenbargers- $260,000 - 30%= $182,000 How will they ever make it? (Oh wait the cars, house, clothing and food get paided by sheep) Well still pray for them. The Staff estimate- $45,000 - 30%= $31,500 For a family of four this is poverty level income!!! too many Senior pastors using the church like a personal piggy bank. Homes, vacations, clothes, cars, jets, etc. I do believe preachers should earn a fair wage for working for the ministry, not the ministry being the mistress of the pastor. These churches are not biblical. If you attend there then at least have the guts to go to the Word of God for the truth about church structure. It was never meant to be dictatorships. Even Christ shared power and leadership. Granted it was the Holy Spirit and The Father. Too much control. The people at the gathering deserve to see the books and where their monies are going.

I agree! I was a big fan of Mariah when she was classy. She started turning into trash when her 'Rainbow' album was released. The fake boobs, fake tan, bleached hair and skimpy clothes make her look like a dirty sl**! In Australia we say she is 'Mutton dressed as Lamb'. Over the last 10 years her music has changed from classy to slu***, too. If Mariah stayed the way she was before, she'd have a big fan base like she used to. She doesn't listen to what her fans want.

Gene Wolfenbarger is one of the best people I know... when my wife passed away from cancer in May HE said HE would pay the $5,000 plus funeral bill out of his own pocket if need be! AND someone from the church DID JUST THAT! GOD - KNOWS WHO !!! The BIBLE says we should judge a man ONLY BY HIS FRUITS! Meaning what has he accomplished for GOD'S Kingdom! By his own actions! I wonder when we ALL get to STAND BEFORE JESUS and see just exactly WHAT EACH one of us has done for GOD just how many of these accusers will EVEN be there? Because of Gene's LOVE for people he has helped THOUSANDS of children in Sevier County and surrounding counties! Not really...I have been a member of eRewards for a long time and I, along with several of my friends and family, have gotten great stuff from doing surveys through this website. The "dollars" you speak of are in fact NOT real money, but pseudo money that you can earn and redeem for some cool stuff. Not sure why you don't like this website, but I am sure millions of others would disagree with your petty complaint.

Seemed like a great guy to me. Truly sincere and believed what he preached. From what I know of him he really loves people and is concerned for their salvation as well as their earthly needs. Why you would say he is a wimp doesn't make since, I don't think a fight is what a pastor would want to engage in. He was always great with me and my family.
